Information and rights

Norkem, represented by the General Manager, is the data controller responsible for the company’s processing of personal data. This statement contains the information you are entitled to when customer data is collected and provides general information on how we handle personal data.

About Personal Data and Regulations Personal data refers to information and assessments that can be linked to an identifiable individual. This may include names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, IP addresses, and behavior history. All processing of personal data, such as collection, registration, storage, and disclosure, is subject to specific regulations, including the Personal Data Act. The General Manager is responsible for ensuring that processing is carried out in accordance with legal requirements. The Norwegian Data Protection Authority oversees compliance with the law.

Processing of Data Providing personal data in connection with services, such as filling out contact forms, sending us an email with an inquiry, or calling us, is voluntary for website visitors. By filling out and submitting contact forms, sending us an email, or calling us, you consent to Norkem AS using your personal data (name, email address, company name, and phone number) to provide you with relevant information and offers. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

What Information Do We Collect? We store the following personal data about our customers: name, address, phone number, and email address. In addition, we store purchase history and behavior patterns on our website, i.e., information about how each customer navigates the site.

Purpose of Processing We process the data to fulfill our obligations under the agreement with you. We also use the data to provide you with information, offers, and services related to your customer relationship via email, phone, and postal mailings.

Statistics Third-party cookies are used to gather statistics on how visitors use the website. Norkem.no uses the Google Analytics tool. We may record information about the device you are using, such as mobile/PC/tablet, operating system, and browser version. We may also collect information about your connection to our services, such as IP address, country, organization (based on IP address), and screen resolution. For each page displayed, additional information such as the date and time, the page you came from, the page you are on, and more, is stored. None of this information is used to identify individuals.

Disclosure of Information to Third Parties We will not share, sell, transfer, or otherwise disclose personal data to others unless we are legally obligated to do so or if you have given your consent.

Your Rights You have several rights with respect to us as the data controller for your personal data. These include:

  • The right to access your personal data (Personal Data Act § 1, cf. GDPR Article 15)
  • The right to data portability (Personal Data Act § 1, cf. GDPR Article 20)
  • The right to object (Personal Data Act § 1, cf. GDPR Article 21)
  • The right to request correction of data (Personal Data Act § 1, cf. GDPR Article 16)
  • The right to have your personal data deleted or the processing restricted (Personal Data Act § 1, cf. GDPR Articles 17 and 18)


Deletion of Personal Data
Information we have received in connection with your customer relationship will be stored for 3 years after the relationship has ended, in line with the general statute of limitations. This is to handle any changes, objections, or deviations after termination. Information that we are required to retain under the Accounting Act will be stored for up to 5 years, in accordance with legal requirements.
